Remote typing jobs are a great way to make money online from home for beginners.

Working remotely is a route that many companies are going. There are countless different positions open in multiple different industries. The greatest thing about working from home is many of these openings don’t require you to have previous experience.

There's often not much of an emphasis on you having an extensive background in a particular career. Some jobs might require a test during the application process, but being a beginner doesn’t automatically rule you out.

Remote Typing Jobs from Home for Beginners

AccuTran Global

AccuTran Global focuses on providing transcription services to its different clients around the world. They accept applicants for people who are looking to work independently from home. You’ll be in charge of producing and editing the transcripts in the exact format that the client requests.

Rev 

Rev hires both transcriptionists and captioners as freelancers. You are paid weekly with PayPal. You can work whenever you choose and get to select from hundreds of projects. Both jobs you’ll have to be as accurate as possible when completing projects. The average monthly earnings for both transcriptionists and captioners are $240, with top earnings bringing home over $1,500 per month.

You will have to complete a grammar quiz and captioning samples, but beginners are still welcome to apply. Paydays fall on Mondays. Projects can be educational TV shows, videos, and more. The pay, deadline, and content of each project will be listed before you choose to work on it.

Go Transcript

Go Transcript pays for editing and transcribing audio. You will have the choice of which audio transcript files you work on. You can even listen to the audio file before you take it. Editors check over transcribers' work and leave a rating on how they are doing. Editor ratings are based on a five-star rating system

Verbal Ink

Verbal Ink is always on the lookout for transcriptionists to join the team. This team only specializes in English language transcription. They aren’t just about typing fast and are open to people applying who don’t have experience. Verbal Ink requires applicants to submit resumes and cover letters.

You won’t be considered if you don’t add a cover letter with your resume. You’ll have to be able to distinguish voices even if there are multiple people who may sound similar in the recording. Transcriptionists must be able to transcribe dialect from people with heavy accents.

Microworkers

Microworkers offer many different tasks for freelancers to complete, including transcription and data tagging. Most jobs can be finished quickly; that’s why they have the name “micro-jobs.” 

This site is open to anyone; everyone across the globe is welcome to apply and start earning. Microworkers also give you an idea of how much you can earn and when the deadline to complete the task is even before you start it. 

Kendall Creek Communications

Another company with transcriptionist openings is Kendall Creek Communications. You’ll be in charge of transcribing veteran's affairs, social security, immigration, and also legal documents. Immigration and social security transcriptionists need to get security clearance.

This includes a background check and fingerprinting, which is no extra cost to the applicant. Unfortunately, Kendall Creek Communications can’t help with technical assistance, training, or software. Senate and House hearings are paid out per audio minute. Work will typically come in during Monday-Friday during the day.

Political hearings have to be the same day turn around while you’ll have 2-5 days to finish transcribing legal documents. Pay per minute is determined by how many audio minutes you transcribe, not how long it takes you to complete it. Some documents are paid by how many pages you transcribe.

Scribie

Anybody can join Scribie. It isn’t just open to US residents. As long as you have a PayPal account, you are eligible for payment with them. They have had plenty of transcription work over the past three months, with over 400 new files added each day. Scribie doesn’t put as much of an emphasis on typing speed as other platforms.

They’ll let you join even if you are a slower typer. Transcription files are typically 6 minutes long or less. The pay rate for files ranges from $5-$25 per audio hour.

Work from home typing jobs are a great way to start working remotely. While these jobs are great for beginners, being able to type fast and efficiently isn't the only skill that employers look at.
