You don’t have to work for a restaurant to deliver food on their behalf. This is a big change that opens the door to both full-time and part-time work. Many companies weren’t even open to the idea of having delivery until services like Uber Eats and Doordash came around.

Some establishments will have a combination of drivers they hire and drivers who work through these separate services. Regardless both options can bring someone a ton of extra money and usually let the driver keep all the tips they receive. 1. Uber Eats

Uber drivers have the option to pick up passengers or be food delivery partners. To make the most money they can decide to do both. Through the Uber app drivers are able to select which service they want to use primary. They can always change it by simply checking the box next to the service. Uber Eats Drivers are their own boss and can choose when they want to drive. 

Depending on the city workers can deliver with a car, bike, scooter, or on foot. Uber also has the instant pay option which gives a driver an option to cash out and get paid up to five times per day. 

2. Doordash 

To deliver with Doordash, drivers must be at 18 years old. Another requirement is having an iPhone or Andriod smartphone. Any car is eligible to be driven or Doordash dashers must have a drivers license, insurance, and a clean driving record. Like Uber Eats dashers may also use bikes, scooters, motorcycles, and even walk some deliveries depending on the city. 

Doordash delivery drivers are eligible to join in thousands of cities across the United States and Canada. All applicants who plan on using a vehicle must complete a background and motor vehicle background check.

3. Postmates

To get started download the Postmates fleet app to get the ball rolling. Drivers can decide if they would rather be paid daily or weekly. Each daily instant pay costs the driver $0.50 and can cash out as many times as they want as long as the balance is $5.00 or more. There must be a linked  Mastercard or Visa debit card on file.

The money is typically made available within 15-30 minutes The weekly deposit is calculated at 11:59 pm on Sunday at that is automatically deposited into the drivers account weekly at no charge. Postmates has in-app help available for those who need it even drivers who are in the middle of an order. Background checks are needed first before you can start on the platform.  All Postmates needs to authorize a background check is a birthday and social security number. 

4. EatStreet

EatStreet is a food delivery job that’s offered in certain states. They are in search for drivers in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Virginia, and Deleware. Drivers can earn up to $23 an hour depending on the city, availability, and performance. 

Drivers are also able to get discounts at some select places like Jiffylube, Anytime Fitness, Apple, and Verizon. Another notable perk would be a low-cost unlimited phone plan and devices through Gig Mobile. 

Drivers must have a clean driving record, license, and insurance on the vehicle they choose to drive. All drivers are W2 employees, not independent contractors. EatStreet wants more people to learn about them so they ask for employees to raise brand awareness by using branded EatStreet delivery gear such as bags etc.

They do offer a flexible schedule, but drivers will have to work with their manager to get the schedule they want. Nights and weekends are preferred.

5. Grubhub

Grubhub lets partners keep 100% of their tips and create a schedule that works for them.  Proof of a driver's license (for at least 2 years) and insurance must be submitted with the application. If a partner wants to deliver on a bicycle they must have a valid state ID. All delivery partners must be at least 18 years old and 21 or older in Chicago.

Grubhub does have phone requirements for all partners. For iPhone users, it must be iOS 10 or higher and Android users need a  5.0 version or higher. Grubhub requires partners to deliver the food in an insulated delivery bag that helps keep the food warm. It can be an insulated bag, doesn’t have to be the one Grubhub provides.

Not all regions are recruiting news drivers. Grubhub doesn’t want to have too many drivers in one area and gives current drivers an opportunity to make the most money. If that’s the case for new applicants they do have a waitlist to join and Grubhub will reach out when spots open up.

Delivery jobs offer a nice flexible way to earn extra money. Partners can even get discounts at certain businesses because they work as a delivery worker.
