Warning: DO NOT WORK FOR APPEN. Unless you are ok dedicating from 20 to 100 hours of work a month, plus dozens of hours trying to understand the inconsistent, barely literate stuff you will be presented as “Guidelines”, and see these hours totally disappear from Appen’s self-generated invoices for contractors, therefore not getting paid for that work. Without forgetting the total absence of communication, which means you will also spend some additional time to try to get an answer to your basic request, “Hey, can I get fucking paid?”, because nobody’s receiving your mails, or nobody’s answering them or, most probably according to observations from dozens of contractors now, Appen has implemented a policy which purposefully ignores all communication from complaining – unpaid – contractors to save money by … just acting dead, letting them leave because legal action will be too costly for a single contractor.
