About The Company
UserTesting is a site dedicated to helping website owners find their biggest problems within several minutes. You can choose to work from home as a website tester for UserTesting if you are looking for a way to earn some extra money online.
Why does UserTesting recruit anyone and not just professionals?
This is simply because the clients who are paying for their website to be reviewed wants feedback from everyday people, not pro’s in the field. They want to find out how easy it is for a normal person to navigate their website, so they can determine which areas need improvements. So it is very important, that you give your honest feedback.
What does the job involve?
As a tester for UserTesting, you will be reviewing websites from your PC or Mac computer. Website testing involves you using an online screen recorder to record your opinions about the site.
Once you begin recording your screen, the people behind the website you are testing will be able to view everything you see, which will help them better determine which areas on their site need fixing and what areas are okay. They can hear your comments as you navigate through their site, so this is a great service that is very helpful to a person building a new website or blog.
What are the Requirements to Become a Tester?
You must be at least 18 years old with your own PC or Mac, and a microphone with the ability to record your voice. Also, your internet connection must meet the requirements outlined on their official site.
How Much Does UserTesting Pay?
All usability testing jobs pay $10 per test. Each one takes approximately 10 – 20 minutes to complete. For smartphone and tablet users, the pay is $15 for each completed test, which also takes around the same time.
What are the Payment Methods for UserTesting?
The only way to get paid is via Paypal. Payments are made within seven days after each completed test. If you don't have one, click here to set up one for free!

How to Get Started with UserTesting
Go here to signup for UserTesting. You will out a simple online form that ask for basic demographic information like your age, gender, and location when applying. This will help to match you with future testing opportunities.
After you fill out the form, you will be asked to record a sample video of your verbal comments as you browse through a demo website. The sample video is used to see how effectively you can browse around a website while thinking out loud. Once Usertesting.com has reviewed and rated your test, you can start working on paying jobs.
Available job openings will be emailed to you, almost immediately. You’ll only receive testing opportunities if your demographic profile matches the target audience of the websites being reviewed. There is rarely a shortage of work since jobs are posted daily.
My Thoughts
UserTesting is a great site to make extra money online, considering you are comfortable thinking out loud for 10 minutes. The pay is pretty good for the amount of time it takes. I highly recommend you sign up to this site, but not depend on it as a steady income. Each test only takes a few minutes and it will make you $10 richer.

I like usertesting. You have to check as soon as you get an email from them or as often as you like because some offers go by so quickly. They do pay and I have only done a couple of reviews – super easy. I did have a question – You have a post for other website review sites but I keep getting a 404 error. Have you moved this page somewhere else? https://www.dreamhomebasedwork.com/paid-web-testing-jobs/

Hi Rose! Yes I did:-) The link is working now. Thanks for letting me know!
Awesome! And no problem. I always try to let fellow bloggers know if a link isn’t working 🙂
Thanks Rose! I always appreciate people like you. Have a great weekend! 🙂
Technical difficulties right away and no help??? While signing up, you have to download a screen recording app plugin, and after installation, you click on the website’s button to “Continue” to set the app up and complete the sign up process by reviewing a sample site. The problem is, After installing the recording app, and clicking “Continue” to see what’s next, Windows gives me a popup error message, saying this program needs a .exe application to open it, and the list of programs to select from is blank. Assuming this recorder is a browser plugin, I search my hard drive for the .exe file for my internet browser (firefox) and select that. I get no response, and there is no place I can find that offers help for this issue.
This company proved to be unprofessional, making people take tests on websites that were not in English, which didn’t change to English even the option for this language was selected. The page links were incomplete and not clearly titled, in the wrong places to be found quickly, and after, people are told that they didn’t get the job offer because they have too many people already working with them (but not before asking you to do the inconclusive test 4 times because of problems with the whole set-up), and phobbing you off with some b*llshit email at the end of it all, aftering having downloaded their program. The whole experience was a monumental waste of time, concentration and effort.
Not my experience at all. They have been very professional and honest. Great company. They pay 7 days after you complete your test and I’ve never had any trouble. Perhaps you had issues on your end? Either way- contact them to tell them the issue with website being in another language. Their customer service is great.
Glad you had a great experience with them. Thanks for sharing your feedback Robian!
